OUR MISSION

A reason to make more.

CreateLeague is being built around a simple belief: creativity grows when people have a reason to begin, a challenge to explore, and a chance to have their work considered with care.

Our goal is to give human artists a place to test their craft against other original entries in their own discipline. A 3D artist should compete with 3D artists. A short-story writer should compete with writers. The work deserves thoughtful judgment on its own terms.

Competition with a purpose.

We plan to start with monthly leagues. Each discipline has five proposed creative briefs, with entry tiers of $5, $10, and $20 and a maximum of 500 confirmed entries in one league. A full league would close and a new, separate league could open, with its own entries, deadline, and prize calculation.

Daily and weekly leagues are longer-term ambitions. We will open fewer initial contests if necessary to provide attentive judging and meet participation requirements. The catalog is a roadmap, not a promise that all 30 concepts launch together.

Human creativity is the point.

Contest submissions must be human-created. Generative AI artwork, writing, music, or animation is not eligible. We plan to request process descriptions and, when necessary, working files or progress evidence. AI detection alone will not be treated as proof. The promotional sculpture in this development site is AI-generated branding material, not an entrant’s work.

Who judges?

The CreateLeague team will judge the first leagues, with guest judges planned as we grow. Judging is funded from the site’s share. Judges must disclose conflicts, recuse themselves where necessary, and use the same published rubric. Staff, judges, and their close affiliates will be excluded from affected contests.

Our proposed rubric is originality 35%, craft 30%, interpretation of the brief 20%, and impact 15%. Discipline-specific criteria and deterministic tie procedures must be published before payment opens. Audience popularity will not determine cash awards. Artists’ Choice is separate, noncash community recognition.

Where would the money go?

The proposed starting allocation is 60% to the winning artist, 10% to the runner-up, and 30% to CreateLeague, calculated from retained eligible entry fees after refunds and payment reversals. Our share supports judging and running the platform. Any permitted processing fee would be shown separately before payment.

See the simple prize split and our plan for holding prize funds. Paid leagues are not open; escrow is not yet established.

Recognition beyond the prize.

Both the winner and runner-up would be celebrated in the CreateLeague showcase, with artist credit, their awarded work, league details, and judges’ notes after results and display permissions are verified. Artists keep their copyright. Private drafts are never automatically published.

Giving back, when we can do it properly.

A future proposal allocates 60% to the winner, 10% to the runner-up, 25% to the site, and 5% to a verified eligible charity chosen by the winner. Five percentage points would come from the site share. Charity agreements, promotion requirements, a vetted charity list, payment records, and transparent receipts would be required first. No charity funds are currently collected or promised.

Where we are today.

CreateLeague is an early development project, not an incorporated business or an operating paid contest platform. This Coming Soon site lets you explore the planned experience. Submissions, uploads, profile creation, comments, follows, voting, and payments are disabled until the full launch. No paid leagues are open. Virginia is the planned state of formation; our actual operating location is still undecided. No LLC or registered office has been established. Participation is intended for eligible U.S. adults. Paid leagues will exclude anyone residing in or physically located in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Maryland, Nebraska, New York, North Dakota, or Vermont. Other states still require legal approval. Read the eligibility policy.

We will publish the operating entity, contact details, final rules, judge disclosures, and payment/refund terms before accepting entries. Transparency starts with being clear about what is still being built.
